alright. but I think there won't be much of anything happening since most people of art club are just manga/anime. I was hoping a little more for different art mediums so that if we decided to make an end-of-year publication it'll be more varied.

so... in place of Comic Club we have Art Club. But it's for all types of art and the we're thinking about doing publications bi-monthly however... we may not have the program for it.

Mybe when I have time I will see if deviant art, smackjeeves, or a similar site supports an OpenID or similar log in. Then it might be worth the headache of switching our site over to this format so that users would have one ID for everything.

I think having comic club people gathering where they feel comfortable is a good idea.

Yes. Anti-virus software searches for viruses on your computer and tries to prevent, isolate, or remove it from your system. Some of them also look for other types of mal-ware like spy-ware that slow your computer down.

The free ones you download and run them from time to time to search for viruses. Every time you run it you check for new definitions which is a file that describes the viruses so the software knows what to look for.

For NOD32 you need to buy a subscription which costs around $30 per year. This fee allows you to subscribe to their virus database and get updates for the software.

We had discussed possible antivirus solutions for computers and I wanted to make sure I posted some links to them:

I have been hearing that Microsoft's free antivirus is good for a free antivirus:
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

AVG free seems popular:
http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage

Mac users can try this out if they would like to:
http://www.clamxav.com/

My current favorite non-free antivirus is NOD32:
http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php

Does anyone else have computer security software they would like to suggest.

Here is the image editors that Andy sent me in a email for those who would like to know...

Free raster image editors worth checking out:

Online image editor works in your browser: http://aviary.com/
(to save something to your computer use the export feature).

GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/

Here is a good comparison of raster image editors:

I don't think placing any blame would do any good. For now lets focus on making this Comic Club the best it can be.

kinda agree there. I guess it's the boundary between what an Editor does and what a Zine Lay Out person does...
and many other officers like the Event Planner and such just didn't seem up to actually do their job?
I think we need to rethink about the rules for Comic Club for next year...
IDK, stressing over it...

The 'rebellion' could be because we had basicly half the club members an officer of some form... They may have thought, "Hey, I'm an officer, I have POWER!" and that's when everyone started to yell at each other about how things should run... when the officers were removed, everyone thought the had next to no power so they rebeled against those in power still.

I think that if we didn't have as many officers, or give every officer a huge amount of power (like an editor messing with the way things are layed out in the zine, for example), we could still have officers.

As for people not coming that often or leaving the club... yeah, that's most likely cause of the new rules...

I think the biggest difference is last year there was a lot of growth and development. We had ambitions and solid plans to achieve those ambitions.

By the standards of last year we may not be as successful, but by the standards of previous years this year we have been successful.

Comic Club is successful this year, but is just doesn't seem that way in relation to last year. In stead of asking what is going wrong this year maybe we should be asking what went so right last year? Maybe is was a fluke that can not be reproduced, or maybe there are things we can reproduce again this year?
